ISMAR2021 is online!
After much consideration, we have decided that ISMAR 2021 will be offered 100% virtual. Given the Delta variant’s current trajectory, we feel a virtual conference is the best option for the safety of our ISMAR community. This was a very difficult decision, as we very much looked forward to hosting everyone in Bari and showcasing southern Italy’s culture, landscape, and of course food and drink! But in the end, this decision was necessary.
All registered attendees will have access to live ISMAR events offered through Zoom and GatherTown. Asynchronous experiences will also be available via recorded talks, on-demand videos within GatherTown and Discord discussion channels.
Conference fees and registration
Since the registration system is based in Italy, by law, it must ask for sensitive information such as Fiscal Code / SSN, date of birth and place of birth. These fields are now optional for non-Italian citizens.

Registration Details
- Registration Fees include access to all the sessions and the opportunities to interact with speakers and other attendees.
- The Student Registration Fee will be accorded only if proof that you are enrolled in a University degree or you paid the tuition fee is provided.
Refund policy
Since the conference is moved 100% online, we will convert your in-presence registration to a remote registration and refund the difference. All refunds will be processed after the Conference.
Non-Presented Paper (No-Show) Policy
IEEE ISMAR 2021 traditionally enforces a “no show” policy. Any accepted paper included in the final program is expected to have at least one author or qualified proxy both register and attend (in-person or remotely) to present their paper at the conference. Authors of the accepted papers included in the final program who do not register and present at the conference will be added to a “No Show List”, compiled by the Conference. The “no show” papers will not be published by IEEE on IEEE Xplore or other public access forums, but these papers will be distributed as part of the on-site electronic proceedings and the copyright of these papers will belong to the IEEE.
